Kili Climb!

To support GAFFER, Dev Amratia has decided to climb Mount Kilimanjaro. After years of sitting on a big leather chair, drinking beer and eating ice cream, he has finally decided to make his first attempt at making a difference. Being impartial, selfless, courageous and downright foolish is his new way to go. On the 6th of June he will embark on an epic trek to conquer the highest freestanding mountain in the world. Mount Kilimanjaro towers 5895m above sea level and pushes the mental and physical capability of every climber to their absolute limit.

Dev is currently training rigorously in Qatar by running, swimming and keeping away from the ice cream in the evening. No minor feat considering the sweltering desert heat! He will climb the Machame route in 6 days and will summit on 10th June at approximately 6am – ready for a spectacular sunrise over the African plains.

The money that Dev plans to raise will be used in both the health and sport sections of GAFFER. Both divisions will benefit from being able to expand to neighbouring villages, increasing the number of people benefitting from the charity. More kids will get the chance to play football and more villagers will be able to attend sexual health workshops.
